The Lawrence Central Bears started off their football season with the 10th annual maroon and gray scrimmage. On Friday, August 8th and the bears were able to showcase their hard work over the summer for fans to see for the first time. The scrimmage brought out a great crowd to see the new Bears offense with 5 starters returning and the new quarterback who transferred from Cardinal Ritter, Santana Allen, Senior.

They had an equal match with the debut of the defense which only has 4 starters returning in Joel Hackett, Jayden Dorsey, DJ Summers, and Elijah Woodfork. While showcasing the new offenses and defense the Bears showed off their Junior Varsity and Freshman football teams. Coach Patterson had his teams play in a total of 3 quarters each and they were able to go against each other in much needed competition. The Bears take on Bloomington South in a scrimmage on Friday, August 15th to get one last tune up before they start their regular season vs their rivals at Lawrence North on Friday, August 22nd at 7:00 P.M.
