Stuck?

We explore a “Stucky” Situation

Imagine taking your daily ride in the elevator from the third floor to the first floor, then all of a sudden the elevator just stops moving. Well that’s what happened to 3 teachers and 1 student here at Lawrence Central!

On Friday September 22nd, Mr.Trahyn, Mr.Terwilliger, Ms.Aldana, and Alexander Trahyn were stuck in an elevator in between the 3rd and 2nd floor.

The elevator has been out of service sometimes throughout the time it’s been in service, but generally it’s up and running. This was also the first time people had gotten stuck inside the elevator.

An interview was done with Mr.Terwilliger to get his insight on the situation. He spoke about his humorous experience while being stuck.

“We were going up to the third floor, and then all of a sudden we got up there and the elevator just dropped. I didn’t panic, I thought it was kind of funny.”

Mr. Terwilliger even had bagels with him just in case they were stuck in there for a while!

The fire department came to the rescue! They opened the elevator allowing the victims to crawl out of the elevator.

“Everybody stayed calm, and just joked around. Tried to make the best of it.” Said Terwilliger.

The elevator has since been fixed, and up and running as normal. We hope that there will be no

more of these incidents, and we are glad that all the individuals involved are safe and healthy.
